Day 1: 16/06/2011

Day 1: 16/06/2011
Tranquility

Day 1

I decided a while back that I wanted to start a 365 photography project Seeing others inspired me to take this step in photography, as i have been at university studying illustration the last three years but leaning more towards photography by the end of my degree and even doing my dissertation on documentary photography.
I wanted the starting day to be a day which meant something to me so I decided that today, the 16th June, which would have been my Mother's birthday who sadly passed away nearly 3 years ago, would be fitting. This project is in her memory and a gift to her.
The main photograph i have chosen today was taken in Central Park in New York city. At the moment I am on a 5 week holiday staying with my Aunty Parvaneh and Uncle Richard. I came here with my partner David and our daughter Rosina. The photography is of a small motor powered boat which people of all ages were sailing around a pond in the middle of the park. It is a peaceful photograph full of tranquility, hence the title. In the middle of the big city there is peace found by all in this wonderful park.
The two photographs below show the bulk of what I did today which was a photo-shoot, which I did for my Uncle Richard, photographing
the filming of a video being made for the Kickstarter website for his product Tricky notebooks. It was a long day but good experience
documenting a film being made.

I have realized that i blogged my first day as the main post, so now day one of my project will always be at the top of the blog and the rest will go in order from newest post to oldest, just so you don't get confused!

Day 106: Reflection

I had my first full friday of university today, I dropped Rosina off this morning at Clares and she want in the toy box playing with Finly before I had even left the house, which is nice to see she loves it so much. University was good the lectures were interesting and now I got to get thinking what I want to do for my project, I am going to buy new sciencetist and the paper to see if I can get ideas to do with current issues. The people on the course are also really nice and we have been ordered by our lecturer to go out for a drink together soon which will be nice. Got off the last lecture early so I meet David before we picked up Rosina. Stupidly I forgot to take Thor back yesterday so we took a walk there and managed to rent another film out instead of having to pay for the late fee which is ok.
Today's picture I took while walking along the canal on the way to Blockbuster. The reflection in the water looked really cool so I thought it was the perfect oppurtunity.

Day 105: Ladybird

What a lovely day it was today, the weather felt like it was the middle of the summer not nearly October, although I did hear some ladies talking to an icecream man about the fact it was meant to be snowing in three weeks time, which is crazy considering the temperture drop that would have to happen, I don't think my body will like that. Crazy British weather for you!
Rosina and I took advantage of the weather and went for a nice long walk to a lovely park, taking a picnic with us. I was very proud of Rosina as she walked alot of the way herself holding onto my bag strap on the pram as she went, and even didn't moan when I picked her up to go over a bridge. We had a lovely day together it was just a shame David was working so couldn't enjoy the weather with us.
Late last night before we went to bed a ladybird flew into our loung, so it was still today early hours of this morning, we caught it and it just sat on a piece of paper not moving so I took advantage of photographing it, which I found alot harder to get a decent shot then I thought. I need to look into bug photography I feel lol

Day 104: A view from the afternoon

Mr Sawtell had a day off work today, which was a bit of a shame as I had university so couldn't spend the whole day together, but we had a nice morning trying out a new music group was doesn't beat the library group, but always good to try new things. I bumped into Hilly on my travells which was nice to see old uni friends back in worcester :) Hopefully we shall party on down soon. The weather was grogeous today, which make the walk this afternoon to university lovely it was just a shame had to spend the rest in a warm classroom, but alas the lecture was quite good getting us prepared for the module ahead and picking out teams ourselves which was difficult to get them fair. When I got back we decided to pop to blockbuster and rented out Thor which we are going to watch now :)
My picture today I took from my balcony early afternoon before university the sky was perfect, and the building looked crisp.

Day 103: Feather

Sadly David was working the late again today, which ment a short morning together before he had to leave, and again a day alone with the baby. Not that its a bad thing she is very lovely to play with and cuddle lots of kisses, and I got take out into the balcony for a little run around. We decided to go on a nice long walk to this lovely park but by the timne we got there she had fallen asleep and was in no mood to be woken so I just carried on my walk and came back home.
Took in Heidi's suggestion of textures today, and used the paveing of my balcony with a feather on top that I found outside too, I thought the two textures worked together to make an interesting photograph.

Day 102: Me

Sometime I think to myself, that with a baby and the same sort of routine everyday my blog could get repeatative also I seem to talk about my day alot where as the blog is mainly for the photographs so maybe I just dug myself a hole by doing that as I don't want to sound boring in the writing let alone in the photographs! Today Rosina seemed alot better as did David who was back to work after having a nice weekend off. He was on the late so it at least ment I got to spend the morning with him, but this also means I have to have dinner alone with Rosina as he doesn't get back till late. The sister is back form her holiday so we caught up on the phone, and other then that I spent most the day being productive and my room is spotless to those who have seen my room will be impressed :)
I decided it was about time to have a photograph of myself on her, so I did some self photographing which I found difficult as I seem to be very judgemental about myself !

Day 101: Chinese Lanterns

Firstly I would like to give you a link to look at, as you may remember on day one of my blog (which annoyingly is also at the top of everyday's blog) I mention and had some secondary photographs of my Uncle's project Tricky notebooks, which on that day was the filming of the project for a website called kickstarter to raise money for it and get it out there. Today the video has been posted to the site and is up and running for 30 days, so could people please take a moment to look and even repos on there facebooks if they like the product :)
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/245861259/international-iconic-notebooks?ref=live
Today for me was busy, Daivd had another day off work which was lovely, so it meant we enjoied a nice breakfast together and i got a bit of a lay in before hand. Sadly David and Rosina were a bit poorly so I was looking after them providing lots of obus oil to make them able to breath :) We decided to tidy our cloths up together which took alot of effort and we have barley any space for them all, I think this is a sign but I am ignoring it lol. Daivd took Rosina to the doctors this afternoon to make sure the cold hadn't got on her chest, so it gave me a good time to do my daily zumba fitness which i must admit I hadn't been doing as regularly as I would have liked to the last week.
This evening after dinner we decided to let off the lantern Scott got Rosina for her birthday, it was more difficult then it looked to set off and we thought it was going to hit the other buildings or worse just fall straight down onto the street once we let it off but luckily it managed to stay up and Rosina loved it, thank you Uncle scott! So my pictures are of David letting it off, and of the lantern flying away into the sky, we told Rosina to make a wish and pointed at a star saying that was were it had gone hehe.

Day 100: Dr. Seuss

My love had a day off work today, first saturday in a very long time so it was nice, we decided to have a relaxing day watching snow white and the seven dwarfs with Rosina this morning, before heading out to town for a casual day of window shopping, getting ideas for Rosina's christmas presents :) David decided to treat Rosina and I today, so we went to our favourite second hand book store and found two Dr. Seuss books and the book of The wind and the willows, we reading to Rosina every bath time and just before bed so we like to make sure we have lots to read her, also the Dr. Suess books are good for children when older learning how to read themselves. He also took us out for lunch at Nando's and claimed a free quater chicken :) Rosina did some colouring while we waited for food but bit though a crayon and cried because she didn't like it in her mouth. Sadly Rosina isn't 100% today and was very sleepy most of the day, she also found it hard to eat as she is struggling to breath through her nose :( But while we were out and about we got her thumb print cast incase I decide I want to get a pendent for a neckllasce made out of it, this was at a baby fare and the lady said she will keep it incase we decided we want one, I have seen them advertised alot and think it would be a nice thing to get.
Today's picture is of all the different types of Dr. Suess books we got the fact that there all different prints makes me smile, we have got them from different stores including a charity shop in america! We have alos managed to get them all alot cheaper then there selling price in shops which one the back is £10 for Horton hears a who, the most expensive we have paid is £3 the cheapest is £1! Just goes to show shop around!

Day 99: These aren't my shoes

My poor baby has a cold, which is very sad as during nap time there was little snores, but she was still happy enough :) we had a film morning watching toy story 3, afterwards we had a nice lunch and went for a walk down the canal and up the river, it is nice to go out and when the winter gets colder we won't be able to do it as often :( I spent the afternoon giving the house a tidy as normal (it never seems to stay tidy!) Rosina was being crazy and running round the loung screaming and laughing, and climbing on the chairs, its very easy to get distracted and play with her as it makes her giggle which is the best sound in the owrld. David got off work an hour early which meant we got to eat with him and then we watching million pound drop live and played alone online :)
Today's picture makes me smile, Rosina kept picking up my ugg boots and trying to put them on so Daivd out her in them and she seemed quite happy but abit confused as why she couldn't walk lol.

Day 98: Evil cow

Oh how I love my baby and her new sleep pattern, what I do not love is dicks buzzing up to our flat and waking me up at 5am anyway!! Either way still had a pretty good nights sleep, and got up happily with Rosina when she called for me this morning very cute I must say. We had a bit of a film day today, this morning after tidying we watched toy story one, while cooking jackets for lunch, in the oven so they took ages but were lovely. Then after a two hour walk this afternoon, and getting David back we watched toy story two over dinner. David and I are now watching beastly on dvd which we rented out :)
Todays picture is of a cow we saw while walking its expression while chewing grass makes it look evil.

Day 97: Its love

Got up late this morning considering I had a bit to do and get Rosina to nursery befor euniversity, luckily Sam was still here this morning so looked after for me when I got ready and then drove me to university after we dropped Rosina off. Sadly she had to go back after that, and I miss her already boo.
University was good we had an induction lecture to introduce us to the new lecturers and the course outlines, it was good and alot of people from my old course are also doing the masters so it was nice to catch up and know i'll be doing it with people I know. I picked Rosina up from the childminded and she had a great time, didn't cry once and was very happy but sleepy when I picked her up. We spent the afternoon playing untill David came home where we watched the quiz show pointless together, and played some silly games :)
Today's phtograph is of Rosina she seems to get older and most beautiful eveyrday.

Day 96: Last of the summer flowers

Woke up this morning and everyone had left for work, but Rosina had let me have a nice long sleep so I felt very awake. Spent the morning doing a bit of tidying and playing with Rosina, then this afternoon Antonia came round for lunch and a catch. Then to our great surprise Sam decided to come for a visit which made us oh so happy :) We had a nice time playing with Rosina and talking, had a dance on the balcony in the rain where Rosina got soaked so when David got home they had a nice bath together. This evening Sam and I went to see the change up at the cinema which was very funny :)
Today's picture I took while I was out in town, it was in a plant pot and they were all slowly dying I feel the end of the summe ris here.

Day 95: Taylor Moores

Sophies birthday surprise was today, Maia and I sercretly planned for her to come to worcester thank you to her parents who dorve them so she wouldn't know where she was going even. It was very exciting when she got here and I think she truely was surprised :) I sorted out some lunch and made a cake last night which we light with 18 candles and sang to her. After lunch their parents left and we did a bit of shopping, and went to the park where rosina happily played and ran around. We are getting domino's and going to tramps tonight so I am posting early so I have time to get ready.

Day 94: Balloons

Mad morning of tidying today, spent two hours cleaning and even did the horrible job of cleaning out the inside of the oven with a horrible spray which says if you get any on your skin you need to see a doctor eww, luckily I put te gloves on and dint get any on myslef, by one o'clock I was very hungry so David took us out for lunch at Bushwackers who do amazing food I had a chicken bbq melt sandwitch and chips, Rosina got a fre emeal for being a little un and David had a roast. Afterwards we took Rosina for a swim (Which I am going to start doing twice a week for fitness with Antonia soon ) Ro loved the pool and we brought her arm bands so she could have a go on her own and have a little float. My Daddy called me this evening as he had found some old characters I designed and thought they were good enough to make a book out of so maybe some children book design will be happening soon :) Got an exciting day tomorrow but I will say more about that tomorrow :)
Today's picture is of ballons in bushwackers, Rosina loves balloons and the lady putting them up (which I assume is in preparation of freshers week) gave her one which made her very happy, as it was purple to match her cloths.

Day 93: Steam trains

Had a day with antonia and Ro ro today, she took use to the Severn Valley railway as a treat (very sweet of her :) ) the day had a few issues such as not working out how to fit the car seat, spilling fanta on my top, play park being shut because the whole town had no water and so on just little ones but it was one of those days. even so we had a nice day going on the train, got free biscuits while buying my lunch, and got Ro a toy train of rosie from Thomas the tank engine. Rosina made lots of friends with all the passangers and staff and she kept going up to them, and playing for an hour with a 2 year old and 5 year old which I think she really enjoied. Makes me happy for her to go to the childminder as it means she will get to play with other children on a regular basis once she gets used to me not being there. Got home to a nice dinner off David and now going to watch pulp fiction for the first time ever.
Today's main picture is of the last station stop on the train, there pretty old fashioned stations and the trains themselves felt a bit like the hogwarts express.
The second picture is of two of the trains that weren't running but were on some of the tracks next to where we stopped.

Day 92: Playing with exposure

My baby slept through the night for the very first time wooo, waking up at half eight without a baby in my bed felt surreal but I felt very good for an 7 hour sleep without getting up. Sadly Rosina is teething with 3 teeth at one time today, so she isn't the happiest baby in the world, everytime I tried to do anything she would push my legs untill I sat back down for cuddles. But we still went to music and to the park where she seemed to make lots of little friends and some four year old girls kept holding her hand and sitting her on their laps. David spoke to her on speake ron his way home from work while she had a bath so she was a happy girl as she missed him lots today.
Today's picture is just something crazy I was taking moon picture with long exposure and decided to play about with the camera while I did it.

Day 91: Hot chocolate

David was working late today so had him at home till half eleven, which was nice as got morning tea made for me and lots of cuddles which included a Rosina jumping in and we had a cuddle attack. In the afternoon Rosina and I meet Antonia, for a nice girly day of a bit of shopping and went for a hot chocolate at costa. I made a spag boll for dinner which turned out to have kidney beans in chilly sauce in as I ran out of tomatoe purree or tin ones! Was still nice though, Rosina was very tired by this point and went to bed very quickly so now we are watching John tucker must die.
Today's photograph is of our lovely cup of hot chocolate we had with cream on top in costa.

Day 90: Potted flowers

Oh how I love my baby who slept till 5.30 am from her bedtime, I hear all these other Mummies who say from a few months there little one is sleeping through and I have been waiting for my turn, Rosina the happiest baby ever but without good sleeps. Hopefully soon she will sleep the whole night! What can I say had an average day doing Mummy things such as playing and tidying. Had a bit to do in town today though and after months of going to town and seeing no one I know I saw 2 university friends today, very much looking forward to starting again now :) Decided to start reading the bible to Ro today so she can make her own mind up on it, yes I know she is yonung but never to young to learn David and I already sing time tables to her too :) Had a nice evening once David came home and we went for a walk and decided to get a dvd out.
Today's picture is of a potted flower I saw in town and thought was very pretty.

Day 89: Best meal ever

Didn't feel brilliant today, luckily Rosina seemed to be nice to me and slept in till half nine where I woke up to up picking things off the floor and putting them on my face babies do the strangest things. We had a rather quite day and didn't do much except a bit of house work, then we went to meet David at work to do a big food shop. Got home just in time for hollyoaks and David made us all dinner :)
Today's picture is of the best meal in the work it looks odd but taste amazing, rice, kidney beans eggs and cheese mmmmm

Day 88: Naps

Went back to Worcester this evening, which meant had a rushed day doing the bits that should have been finished yesterday such as sorting through the rest of my boxes and making charity shop and keep boxes. Also brought quite a few things to Worcester such as the clanger books for Rosina because I think they are the best. Before we left we went to David's Mum's house, and saw his aunt, and cousins including Rosina's godmother, Rosina enjoied playing with Luke, Ryan and will who are all around her age. Had a hellish journey back took nearly three hours includinmg the train to Mk glad to go to bed tonight I think.
Today's picture is of Rosina and David how I found them when I came out the shower this morning, nap time isn't just for babies hehe.

Sunday, September 11, 2011

Day 87: Old toys

Had a busy day today, Rosina got me up nice and early and i felt very tired so I took her downstairs and we watched tv and played while having breakfast. The plan was to go to mk early but after a quick nap we didn't realised where the time had gone so Daddy got us up and we left for Mk at 1! I went to the organised getting some of my Mum's rings streched into my size in a nice store which originally made one of the rings. I also got some new leggings thanks to my Daddy as all mine are getting so old and have holes in many of them. David met us in Mk and we all went home to start organising through my old things into keep and give away piles. Its alot harder then I thought and David made me be brutal. David, Rosina and I then went to have dinner at his Grans with his Mum and Dad so they could see Rosina.
Today's picture is of my choice of teddies that were in the atic I want to keep, I got rid of many already but David says as I have more in my room still to sort through I need to try and get rid of even more, what does everyone else think? I feel I couldjust fill my house with them hehehe

Day 86: Prettiest girl in the world

Had a family day today (minus one David Sawtell boo) had a bit of a sort through of my Mummy jewllery and have decided to use her lovely gold watch, and get some ring sterched to fit me as she had such tiny fingers! We went to Bicester Villiage in the afternoon to get Roxy birthday present off Daddy and to do a bit of shopping. Rosina wanted to walk all over the place and try to steal a little girls ice cream which ended in her being offered her own by the Dad! Tom an dI took her to the play park which brought back memoried from my own childhood, it seems alot smaller now i'm sure they have changed it.... I got an early birthday present of a Cath Kidston bag for university and makeup bag, and Rosina got a bib and some wellies off my dad, love you Daddy. Sadly Roxy and Tom had to go home this evening so now me and Dad are going to watch a film.
Today's picture is of Rosina who seemed to like this pole and kept walking over to it and hugging it, she is just a little poser already I feel.

Day 85: New hair

Had a great night last night with Antonia, lots of dancing, bit head achy this morning though, but after tablets and ceral I was as good as ever.Spent the rest of the day tidying and packing ready to go home. Then got the train back and meet Roxy and Tom at Birmingham. It has been nice being home and about to go to the pub with Gabby and Steve now.
Today's picture is of Roxy new hair cut ready for her holiday.

Day 84: Curly

Had a fun day playing with Ro, untill the wee diaster moment, where after I changed her nappy she exscaped without a new one on and managed to wee on the floor, then as I went to clean her and it up she ran off and did it again, so I took her for a wash in the sink and while I was drying her she did it again, so I put her in the bath where she did another and had a poo!! It was one of the less brilliant moments of having a one year old who isn't quite there with a potty! This afternoon we had a walk round town with David then Antonia came round. Now anotonia and I are getting ready for a night out in velvet :)
Today's picture is of Antonia gettin ready and curling her hair :)

Day 83: Desperados

Found a childminder called Clare this morning, she seemed very nice and Ro got along with her and the boy she looked after, which is a relief as we start university again on the 28th September, Ma here I come! Had a lovely day with Antonia for the rest of the day, girly lunch shopping, film and then drinks. We saw The Inbetweeners it was so funny, makes me feel like I need a good night out dancing though, maybe not quite like how they dance hehe.
Today's picture is of a bottle of the best beer in the world mixed with a bit of tequila, if you have not tried it you should!

Day 82: New shoes

David had a day off today which was nice, we got up and had a family breakfast, more like Rosina had her own but decided to steal bits of David's and mine. Afterwards we went to town and did a bit of window shopping for our ps3 decided on a few bits for it we want for christmas :) This afternoon I got a dissapointing email saying Rosina hadn't got into Uni-tots which is a pain, so I have spent most the rest of the day looking for childminde3rs, I have a meeting with a nice sounding lady tomorrow. Hollyoaks later time now so ta ta for now :)
New shoes, new shoes is what David used to keep pointing out everytime he got a new pair and refused to walk on the grass of get them scuffed in anyway, it was very cute. The reason for my saying this is in honour of today's pictue which is of Rosina first pair of new shoes (walkers anyway) her originals were cruising ones which had soft soles.

Day 81: Cosy

Being back in  worcester felt wired after a week away, been surrounded by so many people all week felt a little lonely being just Rosina and I. Although we did have a few jobs to do and ended up waiting at the council offic for an hour which was a pain, I did need to get Rosina feet re measured for new shoes but every shop was full to the brim with school kids there was no hope, I will have to try again tomorrow as her ones are to tight for her to wear. She is walking all over the show these days and didn't crawl today I am very proud of her even if she does try to run before she can walk without falling over! Was very productive when David got home from work and did some work to help me with my camera techniques.
Today's photograph is of Barry looking very cute in his house, was hard to get a good photograph but I feel I managed even with the cage in the way.

Day 80: Stain glass windows

Day 80 and I could have been around the world in this time, instead its day 80 of my blog lol. Went back to Worcester after a weeks trip away seeing my lovelys. Had a nice lunch with Daddy and David, after which Daddy had to leave to go home so David, Rosina and I went for a stroll and ended up near the catherdral so decided to have a look round as its something I have never done. This evening we had a nice family dinner, and David and I plan to relax this evening.
Today's picture of one of the beautiful stain glass windows in the catherdral, it was quite hard to take photographs but even with the awkward angle of the photograph it shows the beauty of the window.

Saturday, September 3, 2011

Day 79: Wippy

Had a lovely day with the future brother in law, after a morning of Tom dying my hair back to one colour instead of three. Then we went to see Roxy at work before heading off to the park again. It was a bit colder today but decided to go in the paddling pool anyway, Rosina had a lovely time even if she was a little cold, I managed to completly shock my cloths through spalshing and Tom got a wet bum! Afterweards we had a picnic and a ice cream before heading off to the pottery painting place, where Tom made Roxy a cat bowl and Rosina and I made Rosina a piggy bank of a tiger pig :) Daddy turned up after we had finished and we all went back to Roxy and Tom's, where Helen joined us and I made everyone dinner. We are all having a nice evening watching films now.
Today's Picture is very summery of Tom having a wippy ice cream, showing the gorgeous last days of summer before Autumn hits in.

Day 78: Geese

Roxy had work again today, as did Tom till 1. So we spent the morning alone in the flat again watching a bit of the cbeebies while Rosina discovered a love for peanut butter :) Then at 1 we went to meet Aunty Roxy for lunch and Tom came from work, had a great meatball sub from gregs. Then this afternoon Tom, Rosina and I went to a massive park which has a paddling pool, and lots more play things. Rosina although cold loved playing in the pool and the park, and was very worned out by the time we left. Thios evening I am going to the cinem and maybe drinks after with Roxy.
Today's main picture is some of the geese we saw in the park. The photograph below id of Rosina playing fly in the sky with uncle Tom in the pool.

Day 77: Lunchtime treats

Roxy and Tom had work today, so Rosina and I had a Derby day to ourselves, getting up at nine I had a good breakfast of left over spinach pie which Rosina happily shared with me. Then at lunchtime we went to meet Roxy for her break, and went out for a cake which was very yummy. Sadly time passed quickly so she had to return to work, then we decide to kill the three hours before she finished. So I took Rosina to westfields where they have a small soft play center which Rosina happily played in for nearly and hour, after which we decided to go shopping. I have found two lovely dresses in the sale which after work Roxy kindly brought for me, and she also got me a jumper from topshop (I love my big sister :) ) This evening Tom made use a lovely home made curry, and now we are watching Eclipse.
Today picture is in a very cute little cafe, which had very cool chairs and mugs.
