Day 1: 16/06/2011
Tranquility

Day 1

I decided a while back that I wanted to start a 365 photography project Seeing others inspired me to take this step in photography, as i have been at university studying illustration the last three years but leaning more towards photography by the end of my degree and even doing my dissertation on documentary photography.
I wanted the starting day to be a day which meant something to me so I decided that today, the 16th June, which would have been my Mother's birthday who sadly passed away nearly 3 years ago, would be fitting. This project is in her memory and a gift to her.
The main photograph i have chosen today was taken in Central Park in New York city. At the moment I am on a 5 week holiday staying with my Aunty Parvaneh and Uncle Richard. I came here with my partner David and our daughter Rosina. The photography is of a small motor powered boat which people of all ages were sailing around a pond in the middle of the park. It is a peaceful photograph full of tranquility, hence the title. In the middle of the big city there is peace found by all in this wonderful park.
The two photographs below show the bulk of what I did today which was a photo-shoot, which I did for my Uncle Richard, photographing
the filming of a video being made for the Kickstarter website for his product Tricky notebooks. It was a long day but good experience
documenting a film being made.

I have realized that i blogged my first day as the main post, so now day one of my project will always be at the top of the blog and the rest will go in order from newest post to oldest, just so you don't get confused!

Day 100: Dr. Seuss

My love had a day off work today, first saturday in a very long time so it was nice, we decided to have a relaxing day watching snow white and the seven dwarfs with Rosina this morning, before heading out to town for a casual day of window shopping, getting ideas for Rosina's christmas presents :) David decided to treat Rosina and I today, so we went to our favourite second hand book store and found two Dr. Seuss books and the book of The wind and the willows, we reading to Rosina every bath time and just before bed so we like to make sure we have lots to read her, also the Dr. Suess books are good for children when older learning how to read themselves. He also took us out for lunch at Nando's and claimed a free quater chicken :) Rosina did some colouring while we waited for food but bit though a crayon and cried because she didn't like it in her mouth. Sadly Rosina isn't 100% today and was very sleepy most of the day, she also found it hard to eat as she is struggling to breath through her nose :( But while we were out and about we got her thumb print cast incase I decide I want to get a pendent for a neckllasce made out of it, this was at a baby fare and the lady said she will keep it incase we decided we want one, I have seen them advertised alot and think it would be a nice thing to get.
Today's picture is of all the different types of Dr. Suess books we got the fact that there all different prints makes me smile, we have got them from different stores including a charity shop in america! We have alos managed to get them all alot cheaper then there selling price in shops which one the back is £10 for Horton hears a who, the most expensive we have paid is £3 the cheapest is £1! Just goes to show shop around!
